How to register a dog?

It is that time of year again to license your furry friend(s)! The town office has received Dog License Tags for 2026 and we will begin issuing dog licenses on 10/15/2025.

The town sent out reminder notices to dog owners. You may stop by the office to license your dog or

you may also go online at: https://apps1.web.maine.gov/cgi-bin/online/dog_license/index.pl

Please be sure to come into the office before January 31, 2026 to avoid paying the late fee of $25.00 per dog.

“An owner or keeper required to license a dog under section 3922, subsection 1 or section 3923-C, subsection 1 and applying for a license for that dog after January 31st shall pay to the municipal clerk, dog licensing agent or dog recorder a late fee of $25 in addition to the annual license fee paid in accordance with subsection 1 or 2 and section 3923-C, subsection 1”.

Any dog that remains unregistered may also be summonsed to court, so please don’t delay!
