One of the best things about Union River – East Branch is its proximity to Jesse Beach, and Union River – East Branch is not far at all from Ellsworth. On a good day you can take a hike along the Eagle Lake Trail. At this river you will never have a bad time. If the weather is delightful here at Union River – East Branch, you can go for a hike along the Lead Mountain Trail.
Trails: Osborn offers abundant outdoor opportunities. From hiking and fishing to snowmobiling in winter, the town is surrounded by pristine wilderness. The nearby Donnell Pond Public Reserved Land offers hiking trails, boating, and camping.
Hunting and Fishing: Residents and visitors can enjoy fishing in the town’s many ponds and streams. Hunting is also a popular activity in the area, with ample opportunities for deer, moose, and bird hunting in season.

Spectacle Pond: A picturesque pond in Osborn Plantation that’s known for its white perch and pickerel fishing. The pond is made up of two shallow basins separated by a narrow passageway, and the forest extends to the shoreline around most of the pond. You can access the pond by taking the 73-00-00 road, turning right onto the 73-25-00 road, and launching a boat at the shallow sand beach.
